Agreed. I do think there are a number of manufacturing opportunities in the US (you may have mentioned this as well) that are being overlooked because people just assume now that manufacturing is something that must be done overseas. Not that that's the primary direction that the US needs to go in but there are certainly niches which could be filled.

Yes. There were opportunities in agriculture after 1873 as well; they just didn't involve going back to a large scale labor intensive model.
