I haven't had time to write many posts on the economy recently, though there's a lot that I'd like to say. However, I did find an article with an excellent road map for what the government ought to do. It starts towards the bottom of the page at the following link and continues for a couple more pages:

You really need to read the economist. In all likelihood, we should require our senators and congressman do so as well. Informed voters are good voters.

The problem I've had with The Economist is that they're so politically naive - they have no clue how politics works and what can and cannot be realistically implemented politically. It's so frustrating I've never made it all the way through an issue.
